What Is CFM? CFM is an acronym for "Cubic Feet per Minute". This is a measurement of air volume velocity.
What Is A Sone? The technical definition: a unit of perceived loudness equal to the loudness of a 1000-hertz tone at 40 dB above threshold. The Layman's defintion: A sound rating applied to ventilation fans. Super loud bathroom fans are near 5-6 sones. There are whisper quiet bath exhaust fans - moving 100 cubic feet of air (cfm) - rated at .5 sones (really really quiet).
What Is Net Free Venting Area? The total unobstructed area through which air can enter or exhaust a non-powered vent; generally measured in square inches.
